EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON CONCRETE FILLED STEEL TUBE COLUMN TO OUTRIGGER TRUSS CONNECTION

  • Based on a practical engineering project, the large scale cyclic test on the connection between a concrete filled steel tube column and a outrigger truss is conducted. Test results indicate that specimens show relatively satisfying load carrying capacity as well as considerable ductility, and that the failure mode exhibit as the flange fracture of the upper chord and buckling under compression. It is suggested that the welding connection section should be moved to the middle of the upper chord and the welding quality should be control strictly.
