A NEW APPROACH FOR ESTABLISHING ANISOTROPIC CONSTITUTIVE MODEL OF SOIL BASED ON HYPOPLASTICITY THEORY

  • After generalizing and clarifying mechanics properties of continuous media, two description frameworks of a constitutive model for soil-elasto-plasticity theory and hypoplasticity theory-were put forward. And the interrelation between the two frameworks was analyzed. It is pointed out that the framework of hypoplasticity theory is suitable for establishing constitutive model of soil. And a new approach for establishing anisotropic constitutive model of soil based on hypoplasticity theory was proposed. In this way, anisotropic parameters were determined by embedding an anisotropic failure criterion in the hypoplasticity model. It is different from the usual way of parameters' determination by fitting experimental data. This approach offered the possibility of considering the effects of the rotation of principal stress axes for existing analysis platforms.
